Topic 1: Getting Started with Qlik Sense

  • This topic provides an overview of the powerful capabilities offered by Qlik Sense. Students will gain familiarity navigating in the Qlik Sense Hub, understand user roles in the Qlik Sense environment and learn how to create a new app.

Topic 2: Data Onboarding

  • Learn to load data into Qlik Sense, combine and transform the data using visual prep tool, and create an associative data model.

Topic 3: Dashboard Assembly

  • Understand the concepts of dimensions and measures and learn in-depth at different visualizations available in Qlik Sense and how to select the appropriate one for your data and the type of questions you need to answer.

Topic 4: Sharing your insights

  • Learn to take snapshots of discovered data to use in stories composed of slides. Collaborate with others to share your insights through storytelling.

Topic 5: Qlik Sense Augmented Intelligence

  • Augmented analytics refers to a type of analytics which uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to make it easier for business users to prepare, analyze and get insights from their data. Learn to use natural language search, auto chart creation, and auto insights to uncover hidden possibilities and deliver value faster.

Topic 6: Advanced Charting Techniques

  • Learn advanced techniques and best practices for Qlik Sense visualization design to create stunning dashboards.

On-Premise Training

Organizations may request to have the training conducted on their premises instead of Sift’s office.  To do so, here are the prerequisites:

  • Room and projector availability.
  • Students must bring their own internet-enabled laptop (Windows or macOS).
  • Each student will be provided with a Qlik Sense Professional license for use on SIFT’s Qlik Sense Enterprise Server in the cloud (Client-Managed version). Therefore, it is imperative to have a designated room equipped with public-facing WIFI to enable students to access the cloud-based resources.

Topic 1 : Introduction to Data Load Editor

The Data Load Editor is an integral part of the data preparation process in Qlik Sense and is typically used by data analysts, developers, and administrators to perform tasks such as data extraction, transformation, and cleansing.

Topic 2 : Loading and transforming data using Data Load Editor

Learn to connect to multiple data sources and transform the data using Qlik powerful scripting language.

Topic 3 : Data modelling best practices

Learn to define the structure of the data model, including data tables, fields, and relationships between tables. Learn how to architect a robust data model, steering clear of common pitfalls like synthetic keys and circular references that can lead to suboptimal results.

Topic 4 : Advanced scripting techniques

Learn to work with QVD, apply mapping tables, perform table concatenation/joins to streamline data integration and enhance data enrichment.

Topic 5 : Set Analysis

Learn to use set analysis to create dynamic and customized data analyses and visualizations.

Topic 6 : Debugging

Learn to verify that code behaves as expected and to troubleshoot issues before deployment.

Topic 7 : Security

Learn to maintain data security and ensure that users only access the data they are authorized to see.

Topic 8 : Advanced Visualization Design

Learn to create sophisticated charts by incorporating custom sorting techniques and personalized dimension value coloring. Explore the flexibility of user-selectable dimension limitations and delve into the realm of charts with alternate states. Learn to apply theme to maintain a consistent branding across all Qlik Sense applications, and unlock a plethora of advanced features to elevate your data visualization skills to new heights.
